Basically, a “down and dirty discovery session” is a fact-finding mission that I undertake with each prospective client.
My goal with the discovery session is to help you clarify exactly what you are looking for in life, and what challenges are preventing you from achieving these aspirations.
During the discovery session, I will lead you through a series of questions that are designed to get you thinking creatively about what your priorities are and what you really want your life to be like.
We all have challenges in our lives, and those challenges need to be part of the discussion when trying to figure out where we are and where we want to be in the future.
If you have challenges such as a pending divorce, a busy and demanding career, or any other considerations that you need to incorporate into your personal action plan, I will help you lay all of your cards out on the table so everything can be taken into account.
Our mission with the discovery session is to arrive at a true assessment of your current situation and what your dreams are for your future.
With that assessment in hand, I can then help you make decisions about what needs to happen in order for you to achieve those dreams. Together, we’ll discuss some small actions you can take now to get you moving towards the life you really want to be living.
When you take the time to really examine the life you are living and the life you want to be living, you may find that one doesn’t really match up with the other. That’s okay! In fact, if you’ve never really thought about this before, it’s natural to find that maybe you’re a little (or a lot) off track.
The good news is you can make some adjustments now to change your path for the better, and the discovery session is your first step.
After the Discovery Session – Next Steps
You will come away from your discovery session with a vision statement which I will help you create based on the information and discussion we’ve had. Your vision statement is a crystal clear representation of the dreams and the life you are pursuing.
Although the discovery session is about assessing your current and future goals, priorities, and challenges, it’s also a chance for you to learn how I work and decide if we both believe I’d be a good fit as your investment advisor and portfolio manager.
